Dan Hemmert is a principal at Hemmco. He has served as a member of the Governor's cabinet and the Executive Director of the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (the economic development agency for the state of Utah).
He also served as the majority whip in the Utah State Senate. Prior to politics, Dan operated several small businesses including a multi-location retail dry cleaning operation and multiple full-service restaurants, which he still owns. He has also served as managing director of a private equity fund, the CFO/CIO of a family office/asset management firm, the CFO of a venture-backed technology company (successfully sold), in addition to also spending a year as an associate at a large international law firm in DC, a year in Switzerland at a large private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund and two years in banking.
Dan has an undergraduate degree in economics, a master’s degree in business administration, and a law degree, all from Brigham Young University. He lives in Orem, is married to Natalie and has six wonderful kids.
